The GEM Education Centre is a dynamic space that inspires lifelong learning and critical thinking through immersive, technology-enhanced programmes connecting ancient Egyptian heritage to diverse cultures and contemporary perspectives.
Vision
Within the GEM Learning Sector, the GEM Education Centre aims to serve as a hub of ideas and experiences that provide an understanding of the culture and history of ancient Egypt.
By enabling individuals to make connections between their own lives and those of others across different times and cultures, the Education Centre will provide meaningful learning experiences.
Mission
The GEM Education Centre's approach is to encourage discovery and stimulate interest through interactive learning, allowing students and adults to immerse themselves in the heritage and culture of ancient Egypt through GEM's collections. Experiences at the GEM Education Centre will hone critical thinking skills and foster greater historical empathy, as well as instilling a deeper sense of Egypt's cultural heritage. Students as young as 15 will analyse history from different perspectives, inspired by the creativity of GEM specialists as the programmes are directly aligned with the Egyptian curriculum and professional development initiatives.
Aiming to be at the forefront of education, GEM's vibrant, proactive and dynamic centre uses integrated technologies for better understanding of the GEM collections. Programmes at the GEM Education Centre encourage people to ask questions from different perspectives and to create experiences that matter. By creating important resources for teaching, learning, training and research on ancient Egyptian culture, the GEM Education Centre inspires international audiences to draw lessons from history for application in the future.
