Egyptian Museum (Museum of Egyptian Antiquities)

Our Egyptology day guide will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. from your Cairo or Giza hotel and take you on a great day starting with the visit to see the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities also known as the Egyptian Museum, or Museum of Cairo. This institution presents an enormous collection of ancient artifacts displaying the largest and most impressive collections of Egyptian art in the whole world. There is a rare choice of more than 250,000 genuine artifacts that date back millenniums about 5,000 years. Another special room belongs to Tutankhamun and his treasures, gold, and jewelry which were kept for over 3,500 years in his tomb till tomb excavation opened up all its chambers in the 1920s.

Cairo Citadel (Citadel of Saladin)

Go to the Citadel of Salah El Din which sits on top of famous Al Moqattam hill in Cairo; it was initially built for military purposes to protect the city from outside invaders but later became home to the king of Egypt for many centuries. On this tour see beautiful Mohamed Ali Mosque which has come be known as Alabaster Mosque.Note that it was here that a major political event took place, referred to as "Massacre of the Citadel" in 1811 when Mohamed Ali who ruled Egypt between 1805 and 1849 ordered Mameluke leaders killed inside Qaser El Gawhara palace - not open currently visitors.

Old Cairo (Misr Al-Qadima)

After that, Old Cairo, known as Christian Coptic Cairo should be visited. Cairo Tower (Burj al-Qahira)

Cairo Tower itself is not less than fifteen floors high. From here, one can have a great panoramic view of the whole of Cairo. In one go, all the important tourist attractions are visible right beneath the eye. Those places include the state radio and television building, Nile River, Sphinx, pyramids, and many other beautiful sites that will be within your sight from this great top point. Yes, you may use magnifying glasses to view far scenes. Eat at the many places to eat inside this tower. Take great pictures of the lovely city of Cairo from above, using the chance to make a series of amazing wide photos.
